Next Generations Announces Film Series

Boca Raton, FL — Next Generations, an organization of children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors, is pleased to announce its 2006-2007 film series. The organization operates under the aegis of LEAH , the League for Educational Awareness of the Holocaust.

The next film in the series will be The Phoenix Effect, a feature-length documentary that was produced, written and directed by Sharyn Blumenthal. This film explores the common and unique experiences of second-generation Holocaust survivors who grew up in Vineland, N.J.  The film will be shown on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, and Ms. Blumenthal will be present to conduct a discussion after the film.
 

Just a Link was directed by Frederic Dumont and will complete the Next Generations 2006-2007 Film Series. Just a Link is part of the story of the Jewish Defense Committee, which was created by Ghert Jospa, Maurice Heiber, and Chiam Perelman. In setting up a vast network of mutual aid and forged documents, these three men did their utmost, until the end of the war, to counter the relentless hunt for Jews. The film will be shown on Wednesday, February 7, 2007.

All films will be shown at 7:00 p.m. in the Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall, Lynn University, 3601 Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL. Tickets are $18.00 per film.
